We are seeking a skilled and motivated Process Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering including process simulation, process optimization, project economics, thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, and computer programming. As a Process Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, optimizing, and researching processes integral to our carbon capture and olefin-paraffin separation products. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply engineering expertise in simulation, process improvement, and proposal writing within a fast-paced startup environment. Experience with membrane (or other separation) technology is a bonus. 


What You Will Be Doing:

  • Process Optimization: Identify and research areas for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce cost. Utilize process simulation and modeling tools and perform sensitivity analyses. 
  • Process Development: Conceptualize new modular separation systems ensuring efficiency, scalability, and sustainability. Ingenuity for using the broad concepts of chemical engineering and applying them to address specific system objectives.
  • Math skills: Use the principles of advanced math topics including troubleshooting their work, calculus for analysis and design
  • Proposal writing: Prepare technical proposals for customers and stakeholders, outlining project scope, timelines, and deliverables. Present proposals and communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and business development, to ensure  successful product deployment and customer satisfaction.
  • Documentation: Prepare detailed technical reports, process documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). 
  • Safety and Compliance: Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the team.

What You Will Bring to the Table:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
  • 0-3 years of experience in process engineering, preferably in the chemical, pharmaceutical, or separation technology industries.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong understanding of chemical process engineering.
    • Proficiency in process simulation and modeling software (e.g., Aspen Plus, COMSOL, or similar).
    • Proficiency in computer programming (e.g., python, C, and/or VBA).
    • Experience with pilot plant operations and process scale-up is a bonus
  • Excellent math and problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex data sets to make informed decisions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to clearly present technical information to a diverse audience.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and collaborate with colleagues from various disciplines.

Salary and Benefits

We are offering a base annual salary of $70,000 - $75,000, based on experience. A brief summary of our main benefits include:
