Job Title: Project Accountant
Job Description:
As a Project Accountant, you will be responsible for many aspects of Accounting and Operations, including: Project Accounting, Accounts Payable, Employee Expense Reports, Purchase Orders, Staffing, Employee Expense Reports, etc. You will work independently in this role while frequently collaborating with the Controller, Project Managers, and Purchasing Manager to review status updates, invoicing, profitability, earnings and costs.
What you can expect in a Project Accountant Role at BAMO:
- Perform contract management, project setup and project maintenance
- Manage project accounting, including monthly project invoices, timesheet posting, etc.
- Assist project managers in reviewing project costs (budget vs. actual)
- Work closely with project manager/controller to ensure timely collection of accounts receivable
- Process and prepare payment for weekly Accounts Payable invoices
- Process furnishing purchase orders and manage sales tax as needed, including monthly tax filings with various states, and maintenance and renewal of resale certificates
- Assist purchasing manager with furniture procurement accounting, including deposits, payments, expense, invoice, and funding reconciliation
- Deposit and post cash receipts
- Reconcile monthly company credit card charges
- Provide HR/Benefit maintenance and administrative support
- Assist project managers with various project-related administrative tasks
- Assist controller with various accounting functions, including out-of-state compliance and month and year-end closing
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration
- 3-5 years experience in Project Accounting in a professional service firm, preferably an architecture or interior design firm.
- Knowledge of accounting and finance principles and practices, and the analysis and generation of financial-related reports
- Proficiency in Deltek Vision, Deltek Vantagepoint, or Deltek Ajera, and Microsoft Excel
- Familiarity with Studio Designer is preferred, but not required

- Salary range: $70,000 - $90,000
