Licensed SMS Technician
Description

The Licensed Security Management Specialist Technician (SMS) will support the White Sands Complex, White Sands Test Facility, El Paso Forward Operating Location and provide support for electronic systems. The technician will be a LENEL certified professional or Legacy Master/Emerald certified.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Engineer and design access control systems.
  • Program and install access control systems.
  • Program and install IP based cameras.
  • Maintain and repair access control systems.
  • Maintain and repair cameras.
  • Develop ROMs for NASA OEM.
  • Maintain Auto Cad drawing database.
  • Perform daily system tests.
  • Order hardware and material for new systems.
  • Maintain support stock levels.
  • Install multimedia systems as required.
  • Fabricate new cable assemblies as needed.
  • Build up and test new LENEL panels.
  • Build up and test new hardware.
  • Perform fiber optic systems maintenance.
  • Install automatic gate control systems.
  • Provide support for ISS systems operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervision

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience

  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have  4 years of IT experience, 1 year IT Lenel On Guard experience with License (Hardware & Software class, Digital Video Class, Advanced Access Class, Enterprise Class)
  • Must have experience with ReadyOp.
  • Must have experience and certification with Genetec Video Systems.
  • Must have or obtain an LCP certification by completing at a minimum the LGE-Core and LGE-Access Courses.

Skills, Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, Clearance

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
  • Be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret SCI security clearance.
  • Current LENEL OnGuard Master Certification.
  • Axis Camera certified.
  • Lift Truck Certified.
  • Asbestos work certified.
  • Confined Space Certified.
  • Be able to meet drug testing and alcohol-free workplace requirements to include random drug and/or alcohol testing.
  • Effective communicator and be able to communicate in writing.
  • Have useable computer skills with a working understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel.

During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
