Role

The Industrial Equipment Installer has broad responsibilities, and thus is a key member of the Conair Team and a critical part of all phases of new projects. The Industrial Equipment Team Member is responsible for working on a traveling installation team.  This position reports to the Project Management Supervisor and is located in New Orleans, LA and the field.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works on a traveling installation team, taking direction from the site-based Installation Crew Chief;
  • Travel by truck or by airplane to customer sites to install Conair equipment. Typical deployments are targeted for 10 days on, 4 days off, but may vary widely due to job demands;
  • If not deployed on installation jobs, perform a variety of tasks in the PiovanGroup Franklin factory;
  • Work safely; wear proper safety equipment, understand safe work practices, and refuse to do any work in an unsafe manner;
  • Prepare and submit expense reports;
  • Help crew chief prepare returned hardware & equipment for return to Conair and vendors;
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Valid driver’s license; meets requirements to drive company vehicles, including pickup trucks pulling a work trailer; must be able to pass a DOT medical examination or hold a current DOT medical card.
  • Ability to take and pass requirements to drive Forklifts, Scissors Lifts, Boom Lifts and other equipment as needed to perform system installations;
  • Ability to take and pass OSHA 10 hour construction course, or other Conair or customer dictated safety courses, then to work safely using proper guidelines;
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools;
  • Experience in (or capability to learn) piping work/structural/electrical power wiring and control wiring;
  • Understanding of Conair Plastics Auxiliary Equipment, and the installation of this equipment is preferred; ability to learn details of equipment and installation is a requirement;
  • Able to analyze flow diagrams, ISO drawings  and factory layout drawings and conceptualize optimum piping and wiring runs;
  • Must be able to do physical installation work, for 8-12 hours per day, including at typical factory or silo elevations up to 80 feet;
  • Must be detail-oriented and precise;
  • Must provide efficient, high-quality customer service;
  • Must be able to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
