POSITION SUMMARY

The Manager of Human Resources (HR) is responsible for the administration and management of the HR Department; shapes a positive, uplifting, and affirming culture; oversees an aligned performance evaluation process and system; and leads all talent processes to ensure Branches attracts, retains, and develops right-fit talent. Supports the Director in evaluating the effectiveness of HR practices and in guiding continuous improvement efforts that enhance employee engagement, retention, and growth. Possesses sound people skills, values the importance of positive relationships, and competently communicates the Branches mission, vision, and culture. Embraces, embodies, and promotes organizational values as expressed by the Branches Ws: Worth, Wonder, Welcome, With, Walk, and Words.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 


Culture & People

  • Shapes a healthy, safe, positive and uplifting culture that promotes employee retention and engagement.
  • Oversees and manages an aligned talent process including performance reviews, goal setting, and talent planning that drives high performance and enables actionable feedback for growth.
  • Manages the professional development process, facilitates training and ongoing professional development, and provides tools for employees, leaders, and people managers. 
  • Acts as coach, guide, and strategic advisor to the leadership team and all people managers. 
  • Provides guidance on motivating, coaching, and developing direct and indirect reports.
  • Provides counsel and assists employees and people managers in resolving conflicts and complex HR problems.
  • Facilitates stay and exit interviews and employee surveys. 
  • Creates and manages the process for feedback loops; and regularly measures and monitors progress for increasing employee engagement and for continuous improvement within the organization.  
  • Works with leadership to implement and manage the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) plan.
  • Co-plans and co-leads all-staff meetings. 

Recruitment & Hiring

  • Manages workforce planning for the organization to create positions and attract right-fit talent. 
  • Sources talent and manages the recruitment process in collaboration with Hiring Managers.
  • Facilitates the hiring and onboarding process in collaboration with Managers.
  • Manages the background check process.

Systems & Data Management

  • Manages HR systems and databases. 
  • Analyzes trends and metrics to develop HR solutions.
  • Provides timely reports and decision support to leadership.

Administrative Compliance

  • Maintains and represents all HR standards, policies, and procedures for the organization.
  • Monitors HR procedures across the organization and ensures administrative and legal compliance.
  • Implements effective HR policies to ensure all practices are compliant with labor/employment regulations.
  • Educates employees on organizational policies and HR systems. 
  • Maintains job descriptions and personnel files. 
  • Manages employee documentation and follows industry trends to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Keeps employee handbook and HR playbook current.

Payroll & Benefits Administration

  • Provides support in payroll review and processing. 
  • Plans, directs and supervises activities in the administration and maintenance of employee benefits. 
  • Facilitates open enrollment for group health benefits. 
  • Partners with the Finance department to audit benefits invoices for accuracy of charges and credits. 
  • Serves as point of contact to assist with resolution of any issues.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS: 


Minimum Qualifications (Required)

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field
  • 2-3 years of HR experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR best practices.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.

Desired Qualifications (Plus)

  • Master’s degree in human resources or related field.
  • Certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).
  • Proficiency in spoken Spanish and/or Haitian Creole.
  • Experience in non-profit sector. 

WORKING CONDITIONS

Most of the work is performed in regular office conditions with some flexibility for occasional days of remote work. Travel to other Branches sites or meetings is required. Additionally, occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required. Reliable transportation is required to fulfill normal duties. Located in Miami-Dade County.

$55,000 - $69,000
