Description

 Job Purpose:We are looking for an experienced Buyer/Planner to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in purchasing finished goods, international supply chains, and expertise in demand planning and forecasting. This role involves both strategic purchasing and detailed planning to ensure optimal inventory levels and seamless supply chain operations. Essential duties and responsibilities:Planning and Forecasting 

  • Conduct monthly category forecasting meetings with sales, product, and production teams to review inputs and use knowledge gained to make accurate forecast adjustments.
  • Utilize advanced forecasting tools and methodologies to predict future inventory needs.
  • Manage purchasing strategies based on inventory levels, market trends, demand fluctuations, and supply base manufacturing schedules.

Buying/Inventory 

  • Develop and execute purchasing strategies in-line with company objectives.
  • Process purchase orders, direct ship orders, and/or blanket orders for needed materials to meet sales requirements. Monitor and address issues with in-stock rates on key items.
  • Continually monitor demand needs and supply timing and adjust supply timing to improve service to customers and/or meet inventory objectives.
  • Maximize sales and inventory turns by managing supply and inventory and developing appropriate inventory strategies.  
  • Supply Chain 
  • Develop with vendors/suppliers and participate in quarterly business reviews to maintain strong partnerships and discuss business needs, ways to reduce quality, lead time and on-time delivery issues, and to identify opportunities for improvement. 
  • Work with supply chain team, brokers and 3PL contacts to execute and track shipments.
  • Assist in reconciling invoices and receiving transaction discrepancies.
  • Manage DC relationships, facilitating meetings to address quality, capacity, and logistics issues.

Corporate 

  • Lead the purchasing team to proactively identify and implement process improvements. Evolve and maintain documentation and standard operating procedures for demand planning processes and systems.
  • Maintain technical competency with ERP systems and best practices.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.
Requirements

    

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline. APICS CPIM certification is highly desirable.
  • 5~10 years in forecasting, planning, and purchasing roles, preferably with finished goods. 
  • Experience working with an international supply base highly desirable. 
  • Understanding of what drives volume sales by SKU across many products on high volume Ecommerce sites.
  • Solid background in Ecommerce supply chain and S&OP a big plus. 
  • Business acumen and analytical capabilities: ability to use data-driven insights to make decisions and evaluate risks and opportunities.
  • Experience working in NetSuite and NSPB or other forecasting tools a plus. 
  • Ability to present data and influence discussion with executives, peers, and members of cross-functional teams.
  • Self-starter with excellent follow through.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Work Environment: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to the office and warehouse conditions prevalent at the time in terms of temperature/weather. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.
