Location:                    Ypsilanti, MI | Hybrid |Onsite 2 days a week


  

Position Summary:


The Compliance Analyst is one of the most highly confidential positions at Jacobsen|Daniels (J|D) and is mainly responsible with ensuring the company complies with all applicable laws and regulations. This role involves managing various compliance-related tasks, such as tax registration, government registrations, business license renewal, insurance renewal, and annual business filings. The Compliance Analyst is also responsible for compiling financial payment audit data and ensuring that the necessary information is provided to auditors in a timely manner. From time to time, the Compliance Analyst will perform certain tasks related to contract and project administration to ensure compliance for our vendors and subcontractors. These tasks will be performed on an as-needed basis.

Requirements

  

Essential Functions of the Position:

  • Manage and maintain DBE, ACDBE, MBE, LDBE, and SBA certifications on behalf of the company.
  • Manage tax registration (unemployment insurance and withholding) accounts and applications.
  • Manage government registrations (SAM), JDA, and JD Rovolus.
  • Manage Jacobsen|Daniels Associates ("JDA") business license registration and renewal by state.
  • Manage the company's insurance renewal process.
  • Manage annual business filings for various Jacobsen|Daniels entities including JDA, JDE, JD RoVolus, Dansen, and ASG.
  • Review insurance details on contracts and provide Certificate of Insurance (COI).
  • Compile financial payment audit data that details when vendors/subcontractors are in compliance and relevant payment activities.
  • Ensure that compliance-related administrative tasks are completed promptly.
  • Serve as the alternate to the C-Suite Executive Assistant when negotiating contracts and/or bridging the gap where needed

Education and Experience:

Four-year college degree or a minimum of four years of relevant work experience. Relevant experience in audit, regulatory, risk or compliance environment preferred.

Physical Demands: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit for long periods of time, bend, use hands to manipulate (type), talk and hear; walk; sit, and lift or move no more than ten pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral visions, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
