Description

Matthews Motors is seeking a meticulous and skilled Accounting Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent organizational skills, and experience with ERP systems. This role is vital to maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth operation of our accounting processes.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

Accounting

  • Perform daily accounting tasks, including processing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, and maintaining financial records.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Enter financial data into the company's ERP system and ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Reconcile discrepancies in financial statements and reports.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Support the preparation of audits and respond to audit inquiries.
  • Maintain and organize financial documents and records.
  • Assist with other accounting and administrative tasks as needed.

Title & General Administrative Assistance (As needed)

  • Cross-train in title processing for vehicle sales, including working with DMV systems (TitleTec).  This includes any tag office runs that will need to be done on a weekly or bi weekly basis. 
  • Maintain organized digital and physical records related to sales, titles, and administrative processes.
  • Assist with coordination between internal departments and external vendors as needed.
  • Dealer Tag Management and Company Vehicle Registrations.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting or a related role.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
