DESCRIPTION
Under the leadership of the Director of JVSWorks, the Supportive Services Coordinator will have responsibility for the development, stewardship, management, implementation, documentation, training, and optimization of the day-to-day use of student funding and supportive services, including student lending, financial and other supportive services, and tutoring for enrollment and success. This will be applied in all JVSWorks programs: ImagingWorks (2024), ApartmentWorks, BankWork$, CareerWork$ Medical, and HealthWorks. The Supportive Services Coordinator will assist in creating student lending programs and delivering supportive services that boost qualification and enrollment and help ensure student retention through graduation and placement in partnership with all JVSWorks staff and programs managed by JVS SoCal, including AJCCs.
REQUIREMENTS
The successful Supportive Services Coordinator will be a data- and outcomes-driven individual with prior success delivering financial and supportive services for students and nonprofit clients.
- Experience with financial and supportive services for students in private or public education or nonprofit career training, including lending programs
- Familiarity with Salesforce and Salesforce integration and the Microsite 365 suite of products
- Quality control and process improvement experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent vocational training and a minimum of three years of experience
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Supportive Services Coordinator will lead and manage the use of student supportive services with all staff and programs to achieve mutually agreed-upon goals and outcomes to:
- Provide supportive services to students in partnership with program management to overcome barriers to graduation and employment that could include support for transportation, childcare, and other basic living needs
- Oversee hiring, implementation, and monitoring of tutoring services, also tracking their success in accomplishing enrollment and graduation objectives
- Provide support, including assessment and tutoring services, to assist students in qualifying for enrollment and completing studies
- Help design and implement student lending solutions in partnership with leadership, outside lending partners, and employers to create an “earn back” option to satisfy student debt
- Document student assessments, testing, supportive services, and lending in partnership with external lending partners
- Develop and nurture relationships with staff in AJCCs to provide timely supportive services
- Help develop outside resources and funding to provide supportive services in partnership with Development
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of outcomes to facilitate ongoing funding
- Assist Director of JVS Works in preparation of JVSWorks budget, including monitoring supportive services expenditures and correctly processing external/contract trainer invoices
- Analyze, interpret, and present data that is concise and comprehensive for reports, correspondence, and other documents
- Participate in other career training activities as needed, including student orientation, testing and assessment, and graduation
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the essential functions of this job, the incumbent must be able to do the following: stand for extended periods; sit for extended periods; bend and reach for filing and other job-related functions; climb up and down stairs; bend, stoop, and lift to move and retrieve materials; pull, push, and lift; reach both above and below shoulder height. Specific visual abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to inspect work visually. Manual dexterity is required to operate a computer and other office equipment. An employee must meet the physical demands described above to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
