Material Controller
Description

Basic Function: Material Controllers will work with the physical receipt, inspections, storage, delivery and movement of materials.


Responsibilities and Duties:


1. Accurately pick materials based on work order requirements (MFG BOM)

2. Organize, store, and manage materials in designated warehouse areas—safely and efficiently—using pallet jacks, forklifts, or wave pickers.

3. Perform regular cycle counts and help resolve inventory discrepancies.

4. Label parts, rows, racks, and bins to maintain a clean and organized workspace.

5. Ensure production lines are stocked with necessary materials, including feeder line and line stock items.

6. Collaborate with buyers and planners to manage Kanban and Vendor-Managed Inventory (VMI) programs.

7. Work closely with production teams to properly handle and document non-conforming materials and scrap in the ERP system.

8. Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) for issuing and moving materials.

9. Assist planning teams in correcting Bill of Materials (BOM) when needed.

10. Proactively communicate inventory issues to relevant teams.

11. Move materials to storage or FIFO lanes using material handling equipment.

12. Take on additional tasks as needed to support the team.


Requirements

Qualifications and Required Skills:

  • 3-5 years of experience in materials management, inventory control, or a similar role.
  • Solid understanding of supply chain and inventory management principles.
  • Proficiency with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to adapt to change and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience with ERP systems and inventory transactions is a plus.

Salary Description 

$19.00/hr - $21.00/hr
