We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Desktop Support Technician to join our dynamic IT team. Job responsibilities include the following:


  • Install, configure, and upgrade PC software and operating systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
  • Provide timely and accurate customer feedback.
  • Support PC hardware components, desktop operating system software, and application software.
  • Perform minor repairs to equipment and arrange for other servicing needs.
  • Record and manage inventory of hardware and software resources.
  • Maintain passwords, data integrity, and file system security for desktop environment.
  • Communicate with suppliers for the repair of equipment under warranty or via service agreements.
  • Provide end-user training and assistance where required.
  • Manage setup and deployment for new employees' workstations, including installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software.
  • Implement company policies, procedures, and standards for IT infrastructure.
  • Document internal procedures and resolutions to common issues.
  • Collaborate with IT team members to enhance system performance and to provide comprehensive support.
  • Ensure the security and privacy of the network and computer systems.
  • Provide on-site and remote support for network connectivity issues.



Requirements

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience as a Desktop Support Technician or similar role, 1-3 years of experience
  • Familiarity with the latest versions of operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and Linux
  • Knowledge of office automation products and computer peripherals, like printers and scanners
  • Experience with remote troubleshooting and resolution techniques
  • Understanding of networking principles and practices, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP
  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve software and hardware issues
  • Knowledge of industry-standard IT certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional, etc.)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Aptitude for learning new technologies and keeping up to date with industry trends
  • Physical ability to lift and move computer equipment (approximately 40 lbs)
  • Excellent customer service orientation and patience in dealing with difficult situations
  • Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or relevant field; or equivalent work experience
  • Availability to participate in after-hours on-call rotation for emergency support
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with regard to information processed, stored, or accessed by the network
