General Summary: Manages the repairs and maintenance of equipment assigned to the division location as outlined in the company maintenance program. Must consistently utilize good judgment in an effort to maximize equipment dependability through the most cost effective methods.

Duties and Responsibilities (functions considered essential are marked by an *):
- Supervises and manages daily maintenance of division employees.
- Communicates with vendors, negotiates pricing acquires estimates/quotes of repairs with outside vendors and communicates the repairs with Equipment Manager and other managers in operations.
- Inspects work to ensure it meets or exceeds Hulcher Standards
- Supervises the cleaning of equipment.
- Travel to special projects as required.
- Delegates & supervises division employees on day to day maintenance activities and oversees other maintenance projects.
- Teaches others to correctly perform equipment maintenance and minor repairs. Ensure information flows to managers and the mechanical department in a timely manner
- Supervises activities of crew in the shop, including use of tools and equipment.
- Inspects equipment for conformance to operational standards and DOT compliance.
- Monitors oil samples and repair orders for the division.
- Manage facility maintenance.
- Procures materials, supplies and services in required quantities for requested deliveries at the proper price.
- Develop and maintains relationships with local suppliers and equipment dealers.
- Communicates to his Equipment Manager upon taking equipment out of service and updates the repair progress, as well as communicating these issues with division operations staff
- Performs other incidental and related duties as required.

Educational Requirements: High School graduate
Required Certification/Licensure: N/A
Experience Requirements: Three or more years related mechanical experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience (fleet management or mechanical). Knowledge of state permit requirements and procedures.
Knowledge/ Skills:
Knowledge of repair and maintenance of heavy equipment, tractors, and fleet vehicles
Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic malfunctions
Ability to teach others how to perform maintenance and repairs to heavy equipment and tractor trucks.
Knowledge of state permits and procedures.
Ability to time manage maintenance schedules
Knowledge of vehicle parts ordering procedures
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift/carry materials up to 50lbs. Position is subject to long, irregular hours and 24-hour on-call availability
Working Conditions:
Indoor and external working environments. Regularly exposed to noisy, loud environment; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and outside weather conditions. Some exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, explosives, risk of radiation, and vibration.
