Ag/Commercial Lender

Join our team! We are a growing community bank in southeast Nebraska. We are looking for an Ag/Commercial Lender in our Geneva market that will be responsible for an existing portfolio and building new relationships to grow the bank. This role has management responsibilities and provides an excellent opportunity for advancement within the bank.  


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop a strong team within the branch including selecting, interviewing, hiring and continually developing staff, mentoring, and evaluating individual team member performance and growing talent for long-term contribution to the bank.
  • Develop and generate commercial and agricultural lending opportunities. 
  • Interview clients and prospects seeking agricultural and commercial loans.
  • Collect and analyze financial and related data to determine creditworthiness of loan requests.
  • Structure loan terms and conditions that meet client needs and Bank lending guidelines.
  • Recommend approval or declination of loans within Bank policies and inform prospective borrower of decision.
  • Manage existing loan portfolio to include renewals, modifications, updated credit analysis, collections, and portfolio management.
  • Ensure a high level of credit quality and file documentation. Ensure that loan portfolio complies with all bank policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and develop new deposit relationships.
  • Participate as a member of the bank’s senior loan committee.
  • Participate as a member of the bank’s asset-liability management.
  • Participate in strategic decision making and initiatives to maximize the growth, earnings, and efficiencies.
  • Frequently attend community functions.
  • Serve on community boards and committees as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field
  • 5+ years of direct experience in ag and/or commercial lending
  • Must have the ability to read, understand, analyze, and interpret credit and financial information.
  • Strong understanding of credit underwriting
  • Must have the ability to relate to customers in a courteous and professional manner
  • Ability to sell, present, and service bank products
  • Demonstrate a professional image with knowledge of ag and commercial lending
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills
