Description

This position will show as Confidential on Paylocity as it is a student job board only and all jobs are advertised and communicated through Handshake. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Share your Detroit Mercy story while showing future students around campus.
  • Assist with tasks around the office as needed.
  • Outgoing and energetic individuals who enjoy storytelling are encouraged to apply.
  • Work during business hours on weekdays and work Saturdays on occasion.
  • Campus Tours:
    • Lead informative and engaging campus tours for prospective students and their families.
    • Highlight key campus facilities, academic buildings, residence halls, and recreational areas.
    • Provide historical and contextual information about the institution.
  • Knowledge of Campus:
    • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the campus layout, facilities, and services.
    • Stay updated on academic programs, majors, and extracurricular opportunities.
  • Communication:
    • Communicate effectively and enthusiastically with tour participants.
    • Address questions and concerns from prospective students and families.
    • Tailor the tour experience to the interests and needs of each group.
  • Visitor Engagement:
    • Create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all tour participants.
    • Share firsthand experiences and insights about student life on campus.
    • Encourage interaction and engagement during tours.
  • Admissions Support:
    • Assist the Admissions team in prepping the presentation room such as moving chairs, refilling beverages, and snacks.
  • Feedback and Evaluation:
    • Report any issues or concerns to the Campus Visit Experience Coordinator.
  • Professional Development:
    • Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance tour guide skills.
Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be a UDM Student enrolled full-time.

Physical Requirements:

  • May be required to lift 1-10lbs. Reasonable accommodation will be offered if needed.

Anticipated Schedule:

  • Depending on the student's schedule
