ST. LOUIS TRUST & FAMILY OFFICE works with approximately 63 client families across the country, advising on more than $15 billion of total wealth. We are a multi-family office and trust company that serves multi-generational families with complex family affairs. Our philosophy is straightforward; focus on our clients, put them first and always better our service. We provide holistic, high-touch client service including customized, independent investment management and a full range of family office and fiduciary services. We serve a limited number of clients with substantial wealth in order to maintain very low client-to-employee ratios. Each client family is different, and so are we.


We are seeking a new Investment Research Associate to add to the firm’s investment team. Our ideal candidate is passionate and curious about investments, follows investment blogs, podcasts and more. The Investment Research Associate will have broad exposure to public and private market investments and research. The role involves frequent communication and collaboration within the Investment Department and across client service teams. There are future opportunities for advancement, which may include direct client interaction. This is an on-site position located in our St. Louis, Missouri office.


RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

  • Research concepts related to the firm’s investment philosophy and present findings to the Investment Department
  • Assist with translating timely investment topics into client friendly deliverables
  • Support the Investment Department in the evaluation and analysis of investment opportunities 
  • Analyze investment content and research investment options/recommendations
  • Participate in projects related to investments and client portfolios
  • Build knowledge of the firm’s entire investment solution suite (philosophy and technology)
  • Attend periodic investment manager meetings
  • Provide broad support to the Investment Department and Investment Committee

Requirements

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND BACKGROUND: 

  • Bachelor's degree required, business or finance/economics emphasis preferred
  • Excellent analytical skills with eagerness to research various investment strategies
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities/resourcefulness
  • Self-starter with demonstrated initiative and proven project ownership skills
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities to manage numerous job duties and projects with different teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • High energy level, strong work ethic, quick learner
  • Team player mentality and experience 
  • Maturity and well-honed interpersonal skills with high attention to detail


PREFERRED SKILLS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Certifications such as CFA or CAIA considered a plus 
  • Prior experience in an investment firm or financial services environment with exposure to asset management, manager research, financial planning and/or investment consulting disciplines
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with FactSet, Morningstar Direct, Bloomberg or other investment database
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI, SharePoint, Addepar and/or Salesforce CRM considered a plus
