Cook and prepare a variety of foods according to a planned menu, using standardized recipes. Usage of all
kitchen equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Plating and serving food items following portion
guidelines. Maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Assist in other areas of the kitchen including
dishwashing, cleaning, sweeping and putting away pots and pans and other equipment in their proper place.
· Must be able to follow and interpret oral and written instructions such as recipes and food prep
directions.
· Ability to understand and apply measurements used in cooking (cups, spoons, jugs,
thermometers, etc..)
· Ability to follow food prep directions for children with special dietary accommodations. ·
Ability to follow instructions from supervisors and/or school administration.
· Demonstrated (verified) punctuality and good attendance from prior employment ·
Good organizational and time management skills with ability to work in a fast-paced
environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
· Ability to problem solve and exercise good judgement.
· For those without experience in the food service industry, the school is willing to train and teach
those who are otherwise qualified.
