National Sales Manager
Hybrid- Can be located in the New England area- Commute to Ayer, MA monthly or bi-monthly as needed

Job Summary:
The National Accounts Manager will be responsible for managing and growing key national accounts in the food service sector. Strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the food service industry, excellent relationship-building skills, and a proven track record of achieving sales targets. Involves closely working with cross-functional teams to ensure customer satisfaction and drive business growth.
Account Management:
- Develop, implement, and maintain strong relationships with key strategic accounts to expand the customer base.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for national accounts, addressing their needs and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Experience with National Chains and Group Purchasing Organization Preferred.
Upselling and Cross-Selling:
- Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell products and services to existing accounts.
- Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts and prospect new accounts in the food service sector.
- Develop and implement strategies to maximize revenue growth from national accounts.
Retention:
- Develop and execute account retention strategies to ensure long-term customer loyalty.
- Proactively address any issues or concerns raised by accounts to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
Strategic Planning:
- Collaborate with the Director of Sales to develop and execute sales strategies for national accounts.
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities.
Performance Tracking:
- Monitor and report on account performance, including sales growth, retention rates, and customer satisfaction.
- Use data and analytics to drive decision-making and strategy adjustments.
- Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts and performance metrics to senior staff members.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, finance, and customer service, to ensure seamless service delivery to national accounts.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to align on account strategies and objectives.
Contract Negotiations:
- Negotiate contracts and agreements to maximize profitability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in sales or account management within the food service industry, with a focus on national accounts.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing large accounts.
- Strong understanding of the food service industry, including market trends and competitive landscape.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
- General understanding of commodity markets, and trading futures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Make regular sales calls to designated accounts to cultivate customer relations and satisfaction with service provided.
- Develop strategy for brand portfolio, diversification and penetration in each account.
- Demonstrate consultative sales abilities through successful presentations of product, the promotion of new and existing portfolio items and the expansion of business.
- Exhibit discipline and resourcefulness to meet/exceed assigned monthly quotas and placement objectives.
- Participate in sales meetings, on-site training, and remain educated in company policy and industry trends/developments
- Review customers' credit status, collect monies owed for product and partner with Customer Service Department to ensure accounts remain in good standing.
- Complete administrative tasks in an accurate and timely manner.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Work independently and establish selling strategies and tactics that result in new account business generation.
