Custodial Assistant Manager
Description

The Custodial Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting the Manager of Custodial with maintaining strategic and daily operation plans that support overall cleanliness and sanitation of buildings, offices, restrooms, equipment and outside walkways. In this role, you will also be responsible for assisting in training of new team members in custodial procedures for the use of manually operated tools, electrically powered machines, cleaning compounds, solvents and chemicals. In addition, this person will be responsible for implementing departmental programs focusing on team member and guest satisfaction.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct all activities in alignment with principles and integrity of GGP Parks.
  • Lead and influence team through effective motivation, leveraging individual strengths to ensure guest satisfaction and maximum productivity.
  • Continuously improve operational execution through attention to detail and adherence to department operating standards.
  • Assist the manager in organizing, planning and implementing strategy.
  • Develop weekly schedules and ensure staffing levels and lead coverage is appropriate to meet the needs of the business and maximize guest experience.
  • Manage daily operations of custodial team members. Ensures that facility cleanliness standards are maintained at all times.  
  • Manage conflicts and resolves complaints about or within the department.
  • Assist in hiring, retention of staff, coaching, discipline; ensure execution of team member training programs.
  • Assist in monitoring departmental performance, identifying and facilitating opportunities to increase productivity and efficiency.
  • Experienced in managing processes or projects and driving change through positive influence.
  • Plan for and ensure that assigned team members, event locations and materials are in complete readiness.  
  • Monitor and provide support with managing labor and operating expenses.  
  • Mentor and counsel team members and enforces appropriate policies and procedures ensuring that everything is within compliance of departmental standards.  
  • Ensure areas are meeting quality standards and team members are providing world class service by routinely walking areas.
  • Ensure that all safety procedures are understood and followed by providing up to date safety training to all employees.
  • Ensure daily operating logs are accurately maintained.
  • Ensure that custodial services meet the needs of the park, and established custodial procedures by scheduling work activities and adjusting workloads to compensate for scheduled/unscheduled absences, changing priorities, and special custodial projects.
  • Provide continuity of supervision and leadership by assuming the duties and responsibilities of other custodial leaders as required by special circumstances.
  • Continuously improves operational execution through attention to detail and adherence to park operating procedures.
  • Proactively communicate with the Facilities Maintenance leadership to ensure timely response to facilities maintenance custodial requirements.
  • Monitor and provide support with managing labor and operating expenses.
  • Monitor and provide support to satisfy training and compliance processes in collaboration with other Facilities leadership.
  • Participate in Manager on Duty program.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to-waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, stand, sit, lift and walk indoors and outdoors for extended periods of time, simple grasp and fine hand manipulations tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing).
  • Be able to work inside and outside, in varying weather, to include extreme cold/heat. Position may be exposed to fumes, dust, odors, and cold/heat temperature extremes.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds individually and 100 pounds with assistance.

Computer Proficiency:

  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in management, or any related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  • Minimum of two years leadership experience required, 4+ years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Must be able to work a flexible schedule that meets the needs of a 365-day operation, varied and long shifts including holidays, weekends and events.

  • This is a safety-sensitive position. Applicants, regardless of whether they are a medical marijuana licensee, must receive a negative result on a 10-panel, pre-placement drug screening to include THC, prior to beginning work.
