Description

 General Summary: This is an entry-level position that aids and assists in performing the necessary duties related to cleaning and product transfers for multiple industries including but not limited to railroad, grain storage elevators and processing industries.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform silo/bin cleaning and product transfers using vac systems and other cleaning devices within various ag industry environments. 
  • Perform silo/bin cleaning from the side and/or top entry. 
  • Scrape down silo bin walls and bottoms. Move products from one location to another using vac systems.
  • Perform cleaning duties. Must be comfortable entering dark, tight confined spaces.
  • Will perform various maintenance and construction duties, expected to have problem-solving abilities and independent thought processes.
  • Expected to perform strenuous physical labor, move and unload, utilize hand and power tools, and pressure washers.
  • Work as a team and individually.
  • Able to coherently report findings to the chain of command and follow instructions.
  • Operate pick-ups and small equipment.
  • Learns and complies with company policies and procedures, and safety rules
  • Learned hazardous materials handling and precautions.
  • Maintains required equipment service records.
  • Assures safekeeping and proper usage of company tools and equipment. 
  • On rare occasions, may be required to respond to hazardous material emergencies, environmental remediation callouts, and confined space incidents.
  • Performs other incidental and related duties as required.
  • 75% travel requirement.



Requirements

  Educational Requirements: High School graduate or equivalent Required Certification/Licensure: Valid driver’s license required; Class B Commercial Driver’s license required.

Knowledge/ Skills: 

This intermediate-level position requires working on a team in diverse situations and understanding and following instructions. Must be able to use or learn to use tools and equipment, such as but not limited to the following: pulleys, vises, hand and power tools, mechanic rollers, acetylene tanks, wooden blocks, steel collars/shackles, steel hooks, welding equipment, grinders, hydraulic jacks, steel chains and cable, portable lights, "come along," tractors, forklifts, flatbed truck, pickup truck, wheelbarrow, pumps, and generators. Physical Demands: Periods of extended driving and intense physical labor in extreme conditions caused by weather, terrain, and the hazards of working environmental emergencies
