Join us as a Meat and Seafood Supervisor!


We are looking for an energetic, community-oriented and experienced individual to work as a Meat and Seafood Supervisor at our Ambler and Mt. Airy locations. This position is full-time with an anticipated 30-40 hours per week. Evening and weekend availability required. Ability to commute and work at Ambler and Mt. Airy locations is required. If you have experience working in a team setting and a passion for great customer service, then we want to hear from you!


If you are experienced in food preparation/meat cutting, then this could be the right fit for you! We are looking for someone that has full flexibility in their schedule. RESPONSIBILITIES


Customer Service

· Communicate with customers through a variety of means about our products and our product philosophy. Shuttle, e-news, web site, social media.

· Support staff in providing customer feedback regarding products and respond in a prompt and courteous manor.

· Work to serve customers through direct communication in stores and at special events. Seek opportunities to engage customers directly. Answer questions as appropriate.


Product Management and Purchasing

· Manage product handling and presentation, ordering, receiving, and inventory control. Cut, package, weigh, label, and otherwise prepare products for display.

· Ensure products stocked adhere to the co-op’s product philosophies and standards.

· Oversee purchasing, packaging and pricing and display of product as appropriate.


Staff Supervision

· Supervise and manage department staff, establish work schedules, performance standards, training programs, etc. to ensure correct ordering, receiving, unloading, storage, freshness, shrink level, displays, customer service, and related processes.

· Ensure department staff are trained and accountable for meat department policies and procedures and achieving department standards; acts as a role model for staff through professional conduct.

· Supervise, train, review, and develop team members in accordance with company policies and procedures; administer and document corrective actions.


Site Safety

· Create and maintain a safe environment for team members and customers.

· Ensure that department facilities including shelves, displays, equipment, work, and storage areas are clean, function well, are orderly, efficient, and meet health department standards.

· Ensure standards for safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation, productivity, and waste management. Ensure current food handler and other related certificates are maintained for department employees as required.

· Ensure compliance with all county, state, and federal laws, standards, and practices related to operating meat departments.


Marketing and Merchandising

· Ensure department is merchandised in accordance with the needs of the community; maintain shelf allocations to ensure the availability of products at all times.

· Some Marketing related responsibilities, including writing occasional Shuttle columns, arranging for product demos and samples, and creating effective department signage.


Misc.

· Other related duties as assigned.



QUALIFICATIONS


· ServSafe certification or similar certification preferred, ability to become certified required;

· Five years of experience managing a full-service meat department preferred;

· Three years of experience working in a full-service meat department required;

· ServSafe certification or similar certification preferred, ability to become certified required;

· Competent knife handlings skills;

· Ability to stand for long durations of time;

· Ability to safely operate meat department equipment;

· Ability to work in varying temperatures;

· Be or become upon hiring a member in good standing of Weavers Way Co-op

· Commitment to the mission and goals of Weavers Way Co-operative Association
