Description
Harvard Integrations is seeking a supervisor, that is responsible for supervising activities of employees engaged in production and installation of customized, engineered to order products.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Study production schedules, establish work schedules and communicate schedules and assignments to employees.
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the metal processing fabrication department, ensuring optimal performance, maintenance, and efficiency of machinery.
- Implement and manage maintenance schedules and operational protocols to enhance equipment lifespan and uphold production standards.
- Ensure OSHA and company safety procedures are communicated and followed.
- Analyze work orders, work piece and blueprints to determine process, materials, machines, tooling, and sequence of operation.
- Inspect finished product visually and using precision measuring devices such as rules, gauges, square, and micrometers.
- Recommend changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency and improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Analyze and resolve work problems and assist workers in solving work problems.
- Interpret company policies to assigned staff, and ensure adherence to all company, federal and state regulations.
- Suggest and implement activities to motivate and encourage the highest level of employee performance and morale.
- Manage employee performance, resolve concerns, and make hiring, corrective action, and employment decisions.
- Train employees on new responsibilities and assists in production related duties when needed.
- Interface with other shop supervisors, staff, production management, production supporting design engineers and management, as well as occasional contact with customer representatives.
- Follow all established quality guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Follow established safety guidelines.
- Perform additional duties as requested.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience supervising or leading a team in a manufacturing operation.
- Good judgment and ability to work with others at all levels.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Basic math skills and ability to perform calculations.
- Ability to investigate and resolve production or equipment problems.
- Excellent communication, particularly listening skills.
- Complete knowledge of manufacturing process and requirements, with clear understanding and ability to perform each function under supervision.
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication, welding, or industrial electrical wiring processes, depending upon area of responsibility.
- Flexibility with work hours, including Saturdays and Sundays as needed.
