The Strategic Purchaser will acquire a thorough knowledge of the Company's products, and the procedures and policies applicable to the position. The scope and responsibilities encompass after an appropriate training period:
· Work in project teams responsible for all areas of supplier management
o Supplier Portfolio
o Supplier Selection
o Framework agreement (including contract negotiations, payment terms, terms and conditions, etc.)
· Work with suppliers to ensure availability of prototype material (quantity, quality and time) and serial production material
· Work out issues and risks throughout the project duration for successful project stabilization
· Complete special projects as directed by management
· Support Operative Purchasing with tasks as needed (including forecasting, supplier visits and meetings, addressing and solving supply chain gaps)
· Represent Schluter Systems in a professional, positive, and enthusiastic manner in all matters
· Detail-oriented and highly organized individual with ability to work on several projects simultaneously
· Ability to work independently and within a team
· Knowledge of sourcing products and suppliers/markets
· Good communication skills
· Strong Microsoft Office skills
· Self-motivated with the ability to lead others (project management experience is a plus)
· Strong analytical abilities
· Experience with MRP buying a plus
· Supply chain experience required
· Team player who strives for continuous improvement
· Ability to work flexible hours during the week to support international meetings
· Ability to travel both domestic and international
