Job Summary:

This role exists to build excellent teams and to train and coach team members to reach their potential as they facilitate fun, memorable, and quality experiences for guests. The Food Service Manager will bring vision to the future of food and beverage amenities and services at Philbrook, with a particular focus on existing and new large-scale events and programs. This role will oversee a wide range of sales strategies and administrative tasks and will be expected to provide proactive team leadership and support to peer department heads. Upon hire, the most immediate tasks at hand will be securing alcohol licensing and developing a food and beverage services staffing plan. 


What You Will Do:

Strategy & Management:

  • Oversee and execute high performance operations of food & beverage services
  • Develop operational plans and sales strategies around new and existing programs and events
  • Provide training for your team and other teams on how to deliver excellent customer service and sales-based services

Relationship Management:

  • Serve as point of contact between preferred catering vendors and internal staff
  • Partner closely with Operations and Venue Rental teams to ensure client and caterer needs are met
  • Establish and maintain appropriate relationships with vendors and other constituencies to enhance our brand
  • Circulate regularly to maintain a high profile with guests and staff; share relevant information to other departments

Research & Analysis

  • Draw performance insights based on relevant market and trend analysis
  • Implement and operationalize guest service improvements with revenue focus
  • Assist in development of new and renovated food & beverage spaces with a focus on net revenue growth
  • Continually research vendor opportunities

Budget & Regulation:

  • Execute inventory control and calculation for analysis and reconciliation
  • Be fully conversant on all statutory requirements regarding food & beverage/alcohol operations and ensure compliance
  • Ensure that all standards of cleanliness, safety, and sanitation are maintained
  • Develop and adhere to department operating budget
Requirements

What You Will Bring:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in food & beverage, including understanding of point of sales functions
  • Experience in sales required; some retail sales experience a plus
  • Previous experience in managing retail or restaurant floor required; experience managing multiple teams a plus

Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:

  • Excitement for and commitment to the mission
  • Seasoned knowledge of food & beverage industry; some retail and/or sales experience
  • Proven interpersonal skills, with a professional and friendly demeanor
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and problem solve

Schedule Information:

  • Monday through Friday 9am - 5pm
  • Some evenings and weekends required
