The Credit Intern will work alongside the credit manager and credit analyst to review all relevant credit and financial data used in evaluating the creditworthiness of commercial borrowers. The intern will learn credit/financial terminology, how to interpret financial statements including income statements, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows, and will have the opportunity to analyze time value of money and the impact to customers as well as the evaluate the risk of fluctuating interest rates on customer loan portfolios. To be successful, you will need an understanding of accounting, finance, and general business. This position is ideal for someone who has an affinity for business/accounting/finance but is unsure of what career path they are hoping to pursue.
Education and Experience
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
- Detail oriented and ability to work successfully with deadlines and time constraints.
- Ability to learn basics of the Bank’s products and services, including loan and commercial deposit products.
- Strong decision-making skills and verbal/written communication skills required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook and ability to manage a process to completion.
- Professional demeanor and professional maturity required for working closely with clients, employees, and vendors.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
