Overview
SHALVA has a unique opportunity for a clinician with a passion for also providing outreach education to improve community response to domestic violence. We are looking for an LCSW/LCPC or LSW/LPC to provide individual and group counseling for survivors of domestic abuse using a trauma informed, culturally sensitive approach for approximately half of their time, and to participate in community outreach efforts that will be enhanced by their clinical knowledge and skills for the balance of time.
Responsibilities
This outreach and education person will enhance SHALVA’s work by using their therapeutic expertise in several ways. As a member of the clinical team, they will provide individual and group therapy to clients. Their outreach work will include hosting support groups targeted towards potential SHALVA clients. They will also work to identify and implement engaging clinical professional trainings that will support SHALVAs efforts to expand its reach to our growing target population (men, Jewish unaffiliated, 18-36 age, etc.), as well as other outreach efforts that would be enhanced through their perspective as a clinician. This person will act as a liaison between the Clinical and Community Education team to maintain communications and increase synergy. Lastly, they will use their clinical, educational, and writing skills to create content for both the SHALVA and Seven Circles channels, including blogs, newsletters, and social media.
This position reports directly to the Clinical Director for clinical supervision. SHALVA provides weekly individual and group supervision with the Clinical Director and paid opportunities for continuing professional education. It will also report to the Director of Community Education for their Community Education responsibilities.

This is a full-time position. Salary is commensurate with experience. Qualifications and Skills
- LSW/LPC required, licensed Master’s level clinician (LCSW or LCPC) preferred
- Minimum 1 year experience of supervised clinical work
- Experience with trauma informed therapy preferred
- Time Management – effectively manage fluctuating caseloads to meet client needs while planning and managing community education trainings
- Communication (written and verbal) – exchange and provide information both within and outside of the Agency in a professional engaging manner
- Intermediate technical skills (Microsoft 365, Canva or other presentation software)
- Passionate about domestic abuse education
- Must be available for early evening (6-8 PM) therapy sessions and some evening events across Chicagoland
