Outreach Coordinator
Description

Overview

SHALVA believes that core to breaking the cycle of domestic abuse is community outreach and education. The better people understand the dynamics of domestic abuse, the safer our Jewish community can be. SHALVA seeks to diversify and expand our outreach efforts with a dedicated full-time Outreach Coordinator. This person will be responsible for fostering relationships with key synagogues, organizations, and community members to create and implement relevant outreach efforts for people of all genders, Jewish denominations (including unaffiliated), and ages, with special attention to a target demographic of 18–36-year-olds. Candidates should feel comfortable presenting in-person and remotely to a range of audiences. We are seeking someone self-motivated, creative, organized, outgoing, passionate, and comfortable speaking on difficult topics.

Responsibilities

The Outreach Coordinator’s goal is to build a community-wide knowledge base around healthy and unhealthy/abusive relationships while increasing individuals’ comfort levels in reaching out to SHALVA for help. The Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for creating, customizing, and implementing programs and events. This should include innovative ways to attract our growing target audience. Key to the Outreach Coordinator’s work will be managing relationships with current community partners while building new relationships. This includes helping launch a new Young Adult Board Council. This person will also support the growth of Seven Circles, a domestic violence prevention education program for young adult couples, through community outreach efforts and social media and blog content creation.
