MASS MoCA seeks a Website Marketing Specialist with a desire to work in a dynamic, mission-driven, museum environment. Reporting to the Senior Marketer, the Website Marketing Specialist is primarily responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, front end content and administration of the MASS MoCA website and Bloomberg Connects app. The position manages website design templates and style guides, builds new event and program pages, uploads and manages blog posts and images and tracks analytics. This is a hands-on role that ensures the MASS MoCA website and app(s) remain up to date and on brand, and manages departmental updates as requested.
This is a newly created position to support a critical and exciting time of MASS MoCA’s growth and positioning within the context of new leadership and a new 7-year strategic plan. The successful candidate will enjoy being part of a team in a fast-paced, highly adaptive environment. The candidate must match a high standard of institutional design and pragmatic know-how and work efficiently. Proven experience managing and prioritizing multiple projects with an eye for web design excellence within diverse working groups and simultaneous deadlines is crucial.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support marketing, communications, and audience development goals by creating and updating web pages and app(s) content as needed
- Be the first point of contact for all internal stakeholder requests for the MASS MoCA website including Visual Arts, Public Programs, The Studios at MASS MoCA, Performing Arts, and Advancement
- Manage website design templates and style guides, liaise with in-house graphic designers for images and web design needs
- Assist the Senior Marketer in clarifying scope, audience, budget, and timelines for website projects
- Update website with public alerts and or other timely messaging as needed; archive outdated website content
- Liaise with web development team and IT department in support of significant web design needs, performance, laws and regulations, and security issues
- Monitor content of the full website for UX, including testing links and maintaining list for updates or improvements
- Maintain alignment of website and apps with the organization's brand, strategy and standards
- Participate in regular cross-departmental meetings in support of the MASS MoCA Bloomberg Connects app including content updates and edits
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Bloomberg Connects support team
- Develop and share monthly dashboard of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for the website using Google Analytics
- Assist with photography requests from our digital archive, represent the museum at local community events, and other administrative responsibilities as needed
Experience/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, Certifications, or equivalent working experience in a creative field
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on website management experience
- Experience with HTML, CSS, and WordPress with the ability to pull basic reports from Google Analytics
- Experience in updating content, managing blog posts, and working with various WordPress custom post types within WordPress, without the need for custom development or backend access
- Basic knowledge of page builders like Elementor or WPBakery for simple content adjustments
- Familiarity with tools like Asana or Slack for tracking website tasks assigned by the development team
- Clear, concise, and professional communication skills
- Understanding of on-page SEO (like meta descriptions and alt text) without the need for technical SEO skills
- Ability to follow an established content strategy, updating content based on guidelines provided by the marketing team
- Proficiency in using Photoshop for basic image editing and resizing and understanding of image optimization techniques for the web
- Basic understanding of security best practices and ability to maintain compliance with web standards (such as accessibility) as directed by senior team members

Work Conditions
- The work week is on-site, Monday–Friday, with occasional weekend hours to support festivals and other web needs

As defined by the National Labor Relations Act, this position is part of the bargaining unit for UAW Local 2110.
Minimum starting rate $25/hour; non exempt (hourly)
