Mortgage Loan Servicing Specialist
Description

The position handles all duties relating to the servicing of loans. You will work closely with the Post Closing and Closing departments to ensure loans are posted and serviced accurately and completely, then with our subservicer for the life of loan. Customers will rely on this position to get set up properly from the origination process to the servicing process and may request further assistance throughout their relationship with Devon Bank via the mortgage servicing hotline, emails, or escalated issues through subservicer. 


Key Responsibilities:


• Review newly boarded loans for accuracy in the transfer from Encompass to subservicer system of record.

• Book all residential lending loans onto banking system, using correct GLs and descriptions.

• Serve as a conduit between the post-closing and our sub servicer

• Communicate with post-closing to obtain necessary documentation in a timely fashion to board loans to subservicer effectively

• Balance GL accounts and post non-accrual payment details. Work with Special Assets and Credit team to manage Phoenix records in line with subservicer.

• Wire funds accurately and timely to subservicer for escrow, payments, etc.

• Serve as the liaison between operations and subservicer for urgent and special requests. Keep in close contact with subservicer liaison, establishing ability to request urgent attention for escalated issues.

• Scan and store all trailing origination documents and closing packages as necessary.

• General office duties such as writing letters, copying, faxing, filing, receiving visitors, conference room set up and helping field phone calls for the department.


Requirements


• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or a related field preferred.
• 1+ year of experience in mortgage operations or banking operations preferred, with customer service experience highly desired.
• Proficiency in mortgage and banking software systems; Phoenix, Encompass and MSP is preferred.
• Detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of prioritizing tasks effectively.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to embrace change and act as a change champion for others.
• Proactive in identifying opportunities for process improvement and driving positive changes.
 

Work Environment:
 

• Office environment with occasional remote work options.
• Ability to work in fast-paced, customer facing environment and handle high volumes of requests in verbal and written forms.
 

Physical Requirements:
 

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
