JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Clinical Supervisor, Project Choice
Employment Classification: Full Time, Salary, Exempt
Reports to: Manager of Drop-in Services
Department: Programs
Program Summary: Project Choice is a specialized program offered through a drop-in service center working with at-risk/confirmed commercially sexually exploited children (CSEC). Project Choice provides an array of support services through case management, resources, referrals, linkages, therapeutic programs, activities, presentations/trainings to youth ages 11-24.
Position Summary: The Supervisor is responsible for program oversite and supervision of staff through the understanding and application of Trauma Informed practice, Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction and relevant assessment tools for data outcomes. This position requires a flexible schedule and is on-call providing staff support, including afterhours and weekends as needed.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
- Hire and retain a team of staff who are knowledgeable of issues affecting youth ages 11-24, including CSEC.
- Provide supervision, guidance, coaching, and training to program staff to meet the needs of the youth. (Please note that this position does not require a clinical license.)
- In partnership with the Program Manager develop relationships and communicate with community partners to maintain and expand referral and resource base.
- Supervise interns and survivor peer mentors on specified projects.
- Schedule and facilitate team meetings and weekly individual/group supervisions.
- Provide feedback and coaching to staff, including goal setting and performance reviews.
- Provide crisis intervention, as needed, to support the operations of the program.
- Support staff as needed through after-hours on-call response to emergency situations.
- Development and continuous updating of program policies and procedure, ensuring all program staff are knowledgeable of processes and expectations and the fidelity of organizational policies across all program sites.
- Oversee contractual/program requirements, expectations, deliverables and budgets.
- Work within established budgets and manage program expenses.
Knowledge, Skill, and Experience Requirements:
- Master’s degree in social work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field required.
- 3+ years of program supervision or management with the ability to assist direct service providers with their skills development.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in organizations servicing transitional age youth and CSEC.
- Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience.
- Have an understanding of systemic issues which impact CSEC such as issues with social services, law enforcement, probation, criminal and civil legal systems.
- Responds appropriately and with sensitivity to youth in crisis or experiencing mental, physical, emotional or behavioral distress and uses a variety of methods to offer short term, immediate assistance.
- Ability to work sensitively with traumatized youth using a trauma informed, survivor centered and harm reduction approach.
- Makes sound and timely decisions under pressure. Recognizes what is most suitable in particular situations. Effectively makes decisions in non-standard situations. Exhibits independence, decisiveness and responsibility.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Must be comfortable speaking and presenting in public.
- Reliable transportation, valid California Driver’s License and proof of insurance.
- Maintain a flexible schedule in order to be available as needed by the Program.
- Pre-employment screenings include criminal background check, FBI/DOJ fingerprinting, TB test, drug screen, and previous employment verification.

Working Environment/Physical Requirements:
- Primary work environment is the drop-in service center.
- Position will require attending off-site committee meetings.
- Position may require use of personal vehicle. Physical requirements include standing, sitting, typing, bending and lifting up to approximately 50 lbs. (i.e. tables, chairs, food, water, etc.).
