Job Summary: The purpose of this position is to develop, solicit, and obtain business in all market segments. To book rooms, food, and conference business for the Institute and ensure these events run smoothly and according to guest requests. In addition, coordinate programs, workshops, and events to maximize potential contributions to the Institute.
Position is a full-time benefited position. It will be posted until filled.
Essential Responsibilities:
· Develop, solicit and negotiate business in all market segments
· Finalize details for all group, conference and program business
· Ensure Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) are accurate including form of payment
· Maintain accurate, legible records and files per standards
· Resolve meeting room and space conflicts
· Thorough knowledge of meeting space capacities, menu items, AV equipment, and meeting room set-up options
· Contact customers in-house to promote goodwill and foster additional business, repeat bookings and referrals
· Enhance the Institute’s community image and stay abreast of competition, new developments and sales methods and techniques
in the hospitality industry
· Performs all accounting and posting requirements to ensure complete payment of events
· Prepare and report, as requested, informative database for improved management decisions
· Communicate with immediate supervisor regarding all problems or unusual matters of significance
· Follow-up on progress of groups booked such as rooming lists, deadlines, etc.

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in business management, marketing, or hospitality or closely related experience may considered
