Salary Range: $15.50 Hourly

Job Overview: 

To provide direct, hands-on support to Instructors in Youth classes.


Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Regular and reliable attendance and ability to commit to a full session. 
  • Pre- and post-class preparation, cleaning, and storing of materials. 
  • Help students who need one-on-one assistance. 
  • Help maintain safety and discipline in galleries and studios. 
  • Escort students in groups or individually. 
  • Proactively work with students, prepare materials, clean, and organize. 
  • Uphold WAM’s mission, vision, and values as part of its strategic plan and DEAI initiatives. 
  • Perform other duties as necessary. 
Requirements

Qualifications: 

  • Willingness to work with students from different backgrounds and levels of artistic development. 
  • Communicates clearly and willing to follow directions from faculty. 
  • Creative, outgoing, and energetic approach to art education. 
  • An interest in art and/or education. 
  • Basic knowledge of and ability to work with range of art materials. 
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds. 
  • Embraces and promotes diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion initiatives. 

Education and Experience: 

  • Prior experience working with youth and familiarity with art supplies. Background in art or education, preferably both.
