Job Overview:
To provide direct, hands-on support to Instructors in Youth classes.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Regular and reliable attendance and ability to commit to a full session.
- Pre- and post-class preparation, cleaning, and storing of materials.
- Help students who need one-on-one assistance.
- Help maintain safety and discipline in galleries and studios.
- Escort students in groups or individually.
- Proactively work with students, prepare materials, clean, and organize.
- Uphold WAM’s mission, vision, and values as part of its strategic plan and DEAI initiatives.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Willingness to work with students from different backgrounds and levels of artistic development.
- Communicates clearly and willing to follow directions from faculty.
- Creative, outgoing, and energetic approach to art education.
- An interest in art and/or education.
- Basic knowledge of and ability to work with range of art materials.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds.
- Embraces and promotes diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion initiatives.
Education and Experience:
- Prior experience working with youth and familiarity with art supplies. Background in art or education, preferably both.
