National Trade Supply sells air and water filters direct to homeowning consumers primarily through our e-commerce website, DiscountFilters.com. Everyone needs filters, but few enjoy buying them. Your role will help us optimize both the front-end and back-end of our website, improving user experience, and enhancing overall site performance to ensure it meets the evolving needs of our customers.
In this role, you will collaborate across the full development stack, from improving the front-end design and interactivity to optimizing back-end processes that drive customer engagement. For someone to be successful in this role, they should expect to learn about the products we sell, the types of people we sell them to, how our customer’s think and behave while making their purchasing decisions and how to best utilize the tools available to us to win more new customers than peer competitors. For this role, that means ensuring front-end interfaces present the right content to the right user at the optimal time, while back-end systems efficiently manage data and processes to support and enhance the customer journey.
Specifically, you will be expected to deliver the following results and outcomes:
- Establishes full ownership of the website’s performance metrics and of the front-end code.
- Develop comprehensive grasp of the business model and its interconnections.
- Help formulate testing strategies and methods to optimize website and website performance with Acquisition and Retention Marketing Directors.
- Expert proficiency in making changes using PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Troubleshoot website errors and takes the lead on quality assurance projects.
- Ensures structural SEO compliance including DOM, rich snippets, and URLs.
- Ensures adherence to legal responsibilities and compliance standards, including cookie collection and ADA accessibility requirements.
- Experiments relentlessly to find innovative approaches that work better for us.
- Manages relationships with relevant 3rd party service providers.
- Work with other areas of the business such as acquisition, retention, product, IT, and finance to execute the strategies.
Technologies we use
- PHP – minimum 3+ years working on custom PHP solutions – not including Wordpress experience.
