Delta Dental of Iowa invites candidates for a Government Programs Intern to support the Government Programs team this Spring. This is an opportunity to contribute to projects relating to outreach, care coordination, and performance improvement for Medicaid. The program participant will have an opportunity to gain practical work experience by assisting in care coordination and case management for our members with complex oral and overall health needs. There will be opportunities to engage in community events and conferences around the state of Iowa. Activities may also include assisting in facilitation of member advisory groups, assisting with planning and implementing health education campaigns, and collaboration with community partners to promote oral health access and advocacy. Will consider part-time or full-time candidates with hours offered Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This role will require some evening and weekend hours for outreach events. The position is located in Johnston, Iowa.

Requirements


Requirements

 

  1. Must be a junior or senior undergraduate student working toward bachelor’s or master’s degree in social work, public health, or related field. 
  2. Must be able to demonstrate current 3.0 GPA or higher through transcripts.
  3. Must be registered as a student to a college or university for the 2025 Spring session. 
  4. Coursework in sociology, public health, statistics, research, or related field is required.
  5. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel and Word is required. 
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including reports and presentations. 
  7. Will require some in state travel.
