What You’ll Do:

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician supports the manufacturing engineering team by assisting in the development, implementation, and improvement of manufacturing processes. This role is crucial in ensuring that production runs smoothly, efficiently, and to high-quality standards. The technician will work closely with engineers, quality control, and production staff to troubleshoot issues, implement solutions, and optimize production performance.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the development and implementation of process improvements to enhance production efficiency and product quality
  • Conducts time and motion studies to identify areas for improvement
  • Implements lean manufacturing techniques to reduce waste and increase productivity
  • Provides technical support to the production team to resolve manufacturing issues
  • Assists in the setup and optimization of manufacturing equipment and machinery
  • Collaborates with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems
  • Maintains and updates manufacturing process documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Ensures all documentation complies with company and industry standards
  • Works with the quality control team to ensure products meet quality standards and specifications
  • Assists in the investigation and resolution of product quality issues
  • Participates in root cause analysis and corrective action activities
  • Supports the implementation of new manufacturing projects and initiatives
  • Assists in the coordination of project activities, including scheduling, resource allocation, and progress tracking
  • Trains production staff on new processes, equipment, and procedures
  • Develops and delivers training materials as needed
  • Ensures compliance with health and safety regulations in all manufacturing activities
  • Promotes a safe working environment by conducting regular safety inspections and audits
  • Will perform additional responsibilities when required 
Requirements

What You’ll Bring:

  • Associate's degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. 
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with CAD software and other engineering tools.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, machinery, and equipment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Lean Six Sigma, Quality Assurance) are a plus.
  • Maintains confidentiality of proprietary information
  • Ability to maintain a professional atmosphere in a fast-paced environment with numerous interactions and interruptions
  • A high degree of initiative, self-motivation, and ability to motivate others
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with Team Members and colleagues
  • Comfortable with office pets (cats, dogs) 

Not Required but Nice to Have!

  • A Bachelor's degree is a plus
