Technical Project Manager

Description

As a Technical Project Manager at BWF, you'll use your expertise and experience in project management to help nonprofit organizations across the country and world strengthen their philanthropy efforts and advance their missions. This position is part of the company’s Project Management Office (PMO) and will work closely with the Implementation Services team. The Technical Project Manager III will work closely with internal teams and clients to ensure technical projects such as CRM implementations. project recovery and other technology focused projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. This role requires strong attention to detail, strong communication skills, a proactive approach, and a proven track record of managing complex technology and implementation projects from start to finish. The ability to exercise initiative, independent judgement, and have accountability for various processes and projects is critical.


Responsibilities

  • Managing day-to-day operations of multiple and complex projects from start to finish including budgets, deliverables, milestones, and required activities; communicating project status with consultants and clients on a regular basis.
  • Developing and updating detailed project plans, timelines, and deliverables for technology and technology related projects.
  • Utilizing company tools, software and methodology, as appropriate, for management of all client projects. 
  • Collaborating with consulting team members and clients to gather requirements for the creation of both internal and client-facing documentation and reports, data analysis benchmarking, and other project specific deliverables.
  • Monitoring project scope and ensuring that all work is completed in accordance with the statement of work (SOW), project plan and client expectations, initiating discussion related to scope and change orders when necessary.
  • Recording and sending detailed meeting minutes and status reports, including action times following each project meeting.
  • Assisting in the development and documentation of processes and procedures as they relate to the PMO team and project management at the company. 
  • Partnering with other Project Manager team members to co-manage projects, serving as lead project manager.
  • Identifying and escalating potential risks and developing mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
  • Participating and providing leadership in company initiatives and special projects as directed. 
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • 4+ years of professional experience
  • 2+ years of project management experience.
  • Working knowledge of project management methodology. Formal project management training or certification is preferred but not required.  
  • Previous experience managing technology  implementation, optimization and remediationprojects from initiation to completion.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software and use of CRM Software. 
  • Proven ability to manage scope, timelines, and budgets effectively.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. 
  • Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information.
  • Well-developed organizational and prioritization skills; flexibility; attention to detail; and the ability to work both independently and with a team toward a common goal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. 
  • Strong analytical, and interpersonal skills; initiative and follow-through; sound discretion and judgment.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Familiarity with the nonprofit sector a plus. 
  • Experience with data conversion and migration strategies a plus.

Work Environment/Conditions

  • This position can be remote or based in our Minneapolis office (locally based employees are expected to maintain a hybrid office presence). Employees in our Minneapolis office are currently working in a hybrid model, spending days in the office and remotely each week. 
  • Position requires ability to work in a stationary position for majority of workday.
  • Continuous use of computer.
  • Frequent communication with team and clients via zoom and in person.
  • This is an exempt position that requires at least 40 hour of work per week but due to the nature of this role, additional hours are required when deadlines need to be met.
  • Overnight travel to client sites, conferences or company meetings is sometimes required (up to 10%).

Compensation and Benefits Annual base salary range of $62,000 to $70,000 based on qualifications and experience.

Salary Description
$62,000 to $70,000 annually
