Job Overview: 

To provide direct, hands-on support to the Learning & Engagement Division.


Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • To help organize and prepare art supplies and studio areas for classes, gallery studio workshops, and other programming.
  • To do research and design for family guides, brochures, and similar materials.
  • Assist in input, organization, and compilation of data, files and photos.
  • Help with customer service as necessary
  • Act as an instructor’s assistant in youth programming.
  • Assist with installation/take down of exhibits in the Higgins Education Wing.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements

Qualifications: 

  • Regular and reliable attendance and ability to commit to a schedule as agreed with the intern’s supervisor. 
  • Good communication skills, and the ability to work with a wide range of people in different capacities.
  • A willingness to learn
  • Interest in art and/or museum education
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds
  • Ability to follow directions from staff and faculty
  • If assisting in studio programs, basic knowledge of and ability to work with range of art materials and a willingness ability to work and interact with youth and adapt to wide range of student ability

Education and Experience: 


Completion of freshman year of High School, or more.

A combination of any or all of the following; familiarity with or educated interest in art history and/or studio arts, ability to work with current technology, experience with or educated interest in education, experience working in an education setting or working with the public.


Salary Description
$15.50 hourly
