The Inside Sales Manager (Individual Contributor) will be responsible for driving PackGene’s business growth by generating leads, prospecting new customers, developing regional markets, and gathering market intelligence. This role is key to expanding our customer base and enhancing our market presence. The ideal candidate will have strong sales skills, a deep understanding of the biotech industry, and the ability to independently drive results

Duties and responsibilities

  • Lead Generation: Proactively identify and qualify potential customers through research, cold calling, and outreach strategies to build a robust sales pipeline. 
  • Customer Prospecting: Engage with potential clients to understand their needs, present PackGene’s solutions, and convert prospects into qualified leads. 
  • Regional Market Development: Work with marketing team to develop and implement strategies to expand market presence in assigned regions, identifying new business opportunities and partnerships. 
  • Market Intelligence Collection: Gather and analyze market data, industry trends, and competitor activities to inform sales strategies and identify new opportunities. 
  • Sales Reporting: Maintain detailed records of sales activities, opportunities, and forecasts using CRM software, and regularly report on progress to the Director of Sales. 
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing and technical teams to align sales strategies with PackGene’s overall business goals and provide feedback on market needs.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience (Bachelor’s) and 1-3 years (Master’s) in sales, preferably within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry. 
  • Proven track record of successful lead generation and customer prospecting. 
  • Strong understanding of market development and ability to collect and utilize market intelligence. 
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Proficiency in CRM software and MS Office Suite. 
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing market conditions and customer needs.

Physical requirements

  • Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
  • Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and making fine discriminations in sound.
  • Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
  • Lifting: Raising objects of 25lbs from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.
  • Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
  • Pushing: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.
  • Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
  • Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Sitting: Sitting for a period of time.
  • Standing: Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time.      
  • Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
  • Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; those activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. 
  • Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
