Under the direction of the Fleet Manager the Mechanic is responsible for maintaining our fleet vehicles including diesel and gas ambulances, wheelchair vans, and standard automobiles. The Mechanic will work with a high level of autonomy and manage their day-to-day activities to meet organizational needs and ensure vehicles are operational ready. Our mechanics are self-motivated and able to work collaboratively as part of the team. . Our Woodlawn location is the home base for WLRC Medical fleet operations and responsible for new vehicle inventory for multi-state operations, including setting vehicles up for their respective jurisdictions.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Tire replacement and balancing, brakes, struts, ball joints, tie rod ends, axle shafts, shocks, alignments, etc.
- Troubleshooting and repairing of A/C and heating systems.
- General maintenance and repair.
- PM Inspections and road tests.
- Troubleshooting and repairing electrical issues.
- Engine, transmission, and component replacement.
- Safety device installations (cameras, safes, etc.)
- Travel and work in our service areas as operationally needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Graduation from high school or equivalent.
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience with references.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to drive company vehicles with clean driving record.
- Successful completion of a state sponsored EVOC course or ability to complete company provided course in 30 days.
- Ability to pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.
- Ability to work independently with little direct supervision.
- 19 years old at time of hire for insurance purposes.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. independently.
- Possess tools to perform job duties satisfactorily.
- Ability to work outdoors during all weather conditions.
- Ability to speak and write English.
- Must be available to work a rotating schedule of: Week 1: Tuesday - Saturday 0800 – 1630 and Week 2: Monday - Friday 0800 - 1630
