Business Intelligence / Data Analyst

 Job Summary:

The Business Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for, but not limited to, gathering and analyzing operational data for the organization and supporting management and leadership with the data analytics necessary to make informed and objective business and policy decisions. 

Candidates must be proficient in building, maintaining, navigating, analyzing & automating databases. Candidates must possess advanced Excel skills and the knowledge needed to accurately collect valid and reliable data, process, and analyze such data to support business initiatives, which will drive informed decision-making across the organization. Candidates will exhibit attention to detail, initiative, organizational skills, excellent communication skills as well as the ability to manage time effectively. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and can turn complex data sets into actionable insights. A background in nonprofit, health, or education data and familiarity with CARF accreditation is highly preferred.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Management:
    • Leverage understanding of Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) accreditation standards to analyze outcomes and ensure compliance with healthcare and rehabilitation benchmarks
    • Support in the collection, processing, and storage of data, including deep diving into data, mapping processes and problems
    • Conduct data cleansing activities to ensure accuracy and completeness of data within the company's databases
    • Ensure data integrity, reliability, accuracy, and security
    • Support the implementation & maintenance of data governance policies
    • Apply knowledge of IEP (Individualized Education Programs) data requirements and outcomes to ensure compliance with special education reporting standards
  • Analysis and Reporting:
    • Analyze data, with a focus on risk & opportunity management, to identify patterns, trends, and insights 
    • Apply out-of-the-box thinking to solve problems, improve processes, and drive results
    • Present findings and insights to internal customers to support informed decision making
    • Prepare, distribute, or deliver weekly/monthly data analytics & business intelligence reports that identify, explain, and evaluate problems and available solutions
    • Provide solution recommendations to solve internal customer needs, testing & implementing chosen solutions into daily processes
    • Create visualizations and dashboards to facilitate understanding of data trends.
    • Incorporate insights from AOP (Annual Operating Plan) budget analysis to align financial performance with operational and strategic goals
    • Utilize advanced Excel formulas and Pivot Tables to efficiently analyze and summarize large data sets, improving decision-making and reporting visibility
  • Strategy and Planning:
    • Support Executive & Business Leadership with identifying key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure data project success
  • Tools and Technologies:
    • Utilize data analytics tools and technologies
    • Proficiency in using analytics tools such as Pivot Tables, advanced Excel formulas and Tableau
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Work closely with various departments to understand their data needs and challenges
    • Provide data-driven recommendations to improve business operations and outcomes
    • Collaborate with teams to ensure that data analysis supports CARF accreditation requirements, AOP budget alignment, and compliance
Requirements
  •  Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Health Management, Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field. Master’s level degree in stated disciplines preferred
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 1 - 3 years of experience in data analysis or a related field
    • Demonstrated ability to manage complex data projects from inception to completion
  • Technical Skills:
    • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar
    • Strong understanding of statistical methods and data modeling
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
    • Ability to work successfully in an ambiguous environment, meet tight deadlines and prioritize workload even when faced with conflicting priorities
    • Applies out-of-the-box thinking to solve problems, improve processes, and help drive results.
  • Must be a US Citizen and be located or relocate to in the Wichita, Kansas area.
Salary Description
50,034 - 66,710 depending on experience
