JOB SUMMARY:

Perform duties necessary for the administration of federal, state, and institutional financial aid at Lourdes University requiring considerable knowledge of federal, state, and institutional regulations. Assist in Financial Aid modeling and institutional aid analysis. 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

• Develop financial aid packaging philosophies and the merit aid programs to support the enrollment and revenue goals of the University.

• Develop and implement financial aid policies and procedures.

• In conjunction with the Director of Admissions and VP of Enrollment Management, analyze and review effects of recruiting, marketing and financial aid activities.

• Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of the financial aid system, Anthology.

• Coordinate the reporting of financial aid activities as well as Federal, State, and institutional reports.

• Hire, supervise, train, and evaluate professional, support, and student staff in the Financial Aid Office

• Provide technical guidance and direction, to Financial Aid staff with all technically related functions within the office. 

• Provide detailed financial aid specifications to Administrative Systems regarding new and existing processes and reports

• Work with Financial Aid staff and other university staff, as needed, to review, setup, test, and implement Anthology Financial Aid releases and patches.

• Write ad-hoc reports using SQL and populations selections to support the reporting needs of the Financial Aid Office and Enrollment Services, including areas of state and federal regulations, scholarship awards, and disbursements

• Responsible for IPEDS and FISAP reporting for financial aid

• Administer the financial aid office budget.

• Prepare financial aid audits.

• Assure compliance with Federal and State financial aid regulations.

• Account for each fund that is awarded by the Financial Aid Office. 

• Maintain and update Lourdes University’s program participation agreements for federal and state funding.

• Develop student budgets and maintain supporting documentation.

• Maintain financial aid statistics and records.

• Develop and administer Lourdes University’s Federal Satisfactory Academic Progress policy.

• Create and update printed and web consumer information.

• Maintain up-to-date policy and procedure manuals and training material for Financial Aid Office staff.

• Assist in the coordination of the financial aid portion of the Federal Work-Study Program.

• Determine endowed and pass-thru scholarship recipients.

• In conjunction with Institutional Advancement staff, donors and outside agencies, determine scholarship eligibility criteria, application processes, nomination of students for awards, and recognition of scholarship recipients.

• Help determine exit interview requirements for students.

• Administer student literacy program and loan default reduction measures.

• Coordinate and participate in financial aid programs at Lourdes University, high schools, and other organizations.

• Serve on financial aid related committees and chair committees as appropriate.

• Counsel prospective and current students, parents, staff, and high school counselors.

• Assist in administering all financial aid programs.

• Perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.

• Three to five years of financial aid experience required.  Previous supervisory/management responsibilities preferred.

• Thorough knowledge of Federal financial aid regulations required.  Knowledge of Ohio financial aid programs preferred.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

• Ability to relate well to a variety of people, including prospective students and parents, high school and community college counselors, faculty and staff.  Experience with group presentations preferred.

• Ability to organize, supervise and develop Financial Aid/Student Accounts Office staff and functions.

• Computer and data management skills.  Experience using DOE Sites, Microsoft Office, and Anthology Student preferred.

• Ability to develop effective programs and organization for meeting goals and objectives.

• Must be willing and able to undertake tasks requiring much attention to detail and accuracy.

• Must be willing and able to participate in on and off-campus events and staff the Financial Aid Office as needed.  Flexibility in scheduling; available evenings and weekends as needed.

• Flexibility to work in a changing and demanding work environment.

• Thorough understanding of and belief in the Mission and Franciscan Spirit of Lourdes University.
