The Children's Museum has an opening for a Manager of Information Systems to manage the Museum's membership and donor database and point-of-sale software system, supporting all system users in multiple Museum departments. This position will also serve as the manager and main point of contact for the Museum's contracted IT services provider.
Job Specification: Full-time Monday-Friday
Compensation: $70,000- $72,300

Responsibilities and Essential Functions

- Act as a super user of Altru Database; analyze organizational database processes and procedures and prepare recommendations for improvements in efficiency and effectiveness, ensuring business needs have been paired with an effective solution.
- Act as a support and resource to Museum staff regarding Altru software components, provide training where needed, and act as the first line of customer service before requests are escalated to Blackbaud Customer Support. Actively works to troubleshoot and collaborate with others to drive work to completion.
- Prepare/build queries, exports, reports, and dashboards as requested in a broad range of formats. Lead the Museum’s reporting for attendance, zip codes, and membership sales.
- Compile attendance reports for the Museum’s annual audit for the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) and support the audit review process.
- Utilize PowerBi to improve the Museum’s understanding of business operations including daily reports for sales, attendance, and gross margin by revenue channel.
- Serve as primary point of contact between the Museum and Altru/Blackbaud. Clearly communicates statuses and issues to Museum Leadership; including planned maintenance, system upgrades, and relevant Blackbaud ‘road map’ updates.
- Provide consistent oversight of data quality and structure within the Altru database and monitor and communicate with users to ensure accuracy.
- Manage database hygiene, enrichment, segmentation, targeting, and troubleshooting within Altru and other related technology solutions. (Includes data integration with 3rd party systems and programs).
- Participate as active member in the Altru online community and act as lead for Museum to provide feedback to Blackbaud on issues and/or system upgrade requests.
- Manage the maintenance and security permissions of users in the Blackbaud system.
- Support Museum employees with basic IT troubleshooting of hardware and software. Coordinate with the Museum’s outsourced IT partner for advanced troubleshooting.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends occasionally.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Work Environment
This position operates in busy indoor environment where variable temperatures, crowds and moderate to very noisy sound levels are common. This position frequently uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers, as well as common cleaning supplies.

- Ability to load, unload and set up materials and equipment (up to 25 lbs)
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time indoors and outdoors (up to 6 hours)
- Other physical requirements of the position may include but are not limited to moving, traversing, positioning self to bend, stoop, or crouch, reaching, or remaining in a stationary position
- Operate a computer and other office equipment
- Frequently communicate with staff with daily inquiries and exchange accurate information in these situations

Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite and advanced skills in MS Excel
