Schedule: May require some weekend and evening work
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Coordinate local council programming and provide needed services for multi-system youth in Portage County.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Analyzes, designs, and develops programs and projects to improve local service delivery
according to Family First Council recommendations.
2. Encourages collaboration of funding and develops alternative financing strategies to maximize
the use of state, local, and federal resources for service to the community by identifying and
securing funding sources.
3. Prepares and processes federal and state grants to optimize community programs via Comprehensive
Strategies Strategic Plan.
4. Coordinates services with related agencies and service delivery systems, and maintains an
accountability system to monitor progress.
5. Directs activities of Family First Council grants including distribution and monitoring of
mini-grants and contracts, overseeing expenditure of funds to designated agencies in line with
grant criteria and coordination of preventative efforts of child placements. Reports to the
State on grant activities as required.
6. In conjunction with the Council Fiscal Agent, oversees fiscal management of the Council
including budget preparation and fiscal control. Responsible for implementing budget procedures
and monitoring funded programs and budgets. Provides input for monthly financial reports to the
Family First Council Administrative Agent.
7. Engagement with organizations that FCFC has co-involvement or joint funding
8. Establishes Council identity and communicates it to the local community; conducts meetings and
reviews proposals; independently represents Council at local, regional, and state wide
meetings.
9. Provide service coordination to eligible youth
10. Other duties related to Council goals as determined by the Council.
11. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor's Degree and experience in supervision/management.
2. Knowledge of budgeting, contracting, and financial reporting.
3. Computer skills including working knowledge of spreadsheet software, i.e. Lotus, Microsoft, Excel, Quateri Pro, etc.
4. Ability to prepare and facilitate implementation of grants.
5. Ability to gather, collect, and analyze data.
6. Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
7. Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work independently.
8. Knowledge of Portage County community resources and child serving systems.
9. Experience in resource development and planning.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Behavioral Health, Education, Public Administration, or related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years related work experience in program administration. Minimum of 1 year of supervisory
experience. Must possess 3 years of directly related demonstrated work experience to meet specific job duties. Knowledge of additional languages and cultures is preferred.
Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database programs. Use mathematics to solve problems. Obtain and use equipment, facilities, and materials required to perform work. Operate job related equipment including the use of basic computer programs and systems . Do data entry, generate reports, copy, manage and track documents and information. Integrity, sense of responsibility, independent judgment and excellent critical thinking skills . Strong and moral character.
