Description

We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Senior National Accounts Manager to join our newly created National Accounts team to lead and manage the sales relationship with Barnes & Noble and Indigo. The successful candidate will play a critical role in pitching new titles, driving revenue, managing account relationships, and executing strategies to maximize sales across Barnes & Noble’s and Indigo’s national retail and online platforms. This position requires a deep understanding of the book retail landscape, strong sales acumen, and the ability to collaborate across multiple internal and external teams.


Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Barnes & Noble and Indigo, developing and executing sales strategies to grow revenue and market share
  • Present the Adult, Children’s and Special Interest lists seasonally along with trade focused Academic titles
  • Work closely with internal teams such as publicity, marketing, editorial, and operations to ensure the successful execution of sales strategies and to support Barnes & Noble’s evolving needs
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at Barnes & Noble and Indigo, ensuring alignment on sales objectives, promotional plans, and long-term business strategies
  • Prepare and present regular sales reports to senior management, highlighting key performance metrics and growth opportunities
  • Analyze sales data, market trends, and customer insights to drive informed decision-making
  • Stay current on industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences 
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of 7 years of sales experience in publishing
  • At least 2 years’ experience working with B&N
  • Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present and communicate effectively to both internal teams and senior-level client contacts

Location

All candidates must reside in the NY tri-state area and be able to commute to our NY headquarters on a hybrid-remote schedule.

Salary Description
$85,000 - $105,000
