Position Summary
The Care Coordinator is responsible for supporting families by facilitating both internal and external referrals for therapeutic, behavioral, educational, evaluation and group services. This individual will also be responsible for meeting with families to walk them through processes for securing behavioral and educational services, Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) services, and for obtaining out of network insurance reimbursement. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the IEP and IESP process, OPWDD, and insurance funded services. The Care Coordinator serves as a liaison between MPG patients and families and healthcare providers, advocating for their needs and ensuring they receive the support they desire by supporting them through the complexity of service coordination.

Position Responsibilities
- Remain up to date and knowledgeable on all services offered by Manhattan Psychology Group
- Act as a liaison for patients and ensure support is provided with an ultimate goal of the patient receiving services
- Foster effective communication to deliver patient-centered care
- Ensuring timely communication with patients and their families
- Maintain a solid understanding of IEP and IESP processes
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with related service providers (OT, SLP, PT, etc.), attorneys, and families
- Conduct regular check-ins with referrals to related service providers and maintain an up-to-date list of available services/providers
- Advocate for the needs and concerns of patients, ensuring they receive high-quality care and assistance
- Gather feedback from patients and collateral providers to improve the overall patient experience
- Support directors in developing personalized, direct emails to patients communicating the services and programs offered by MPG
- Collect data and develop key metrics to support the patient experience
- Document communication and enter ongoing orders for services into our proprietary EHR system
Required:
- General knowledge of psychotherapy and neuropsychological services
- General knowledge of behavioral and educational services
- General knowledge of the IEP process in NYC public schools and the IESP process for private schools
- General knowledge of the OPWDD process in NYS
- General knowledge of the insurance authorization process
- Experience and proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.) and EMR Systems (i.e. Provider Point)
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
- Exceptional communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Possess strong work ethic; self-motivated with a desire to take initiative and look for ways to improve processes and create efficiencies
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare processes
- Ability to schedule meetings and be on camera with families throughout the day
- 3-5 years of administrative experience in the mental or behavioral health field
- Undergraduate degree in psychology, special education, behavior analysis or a related field
Preferred:
- Graduate degree in psychology, special education, behavior analysis or a related field
- 3+ years clinical experience in addition to administrative experience
