Sandy Cove Ministries is seeking a Digital Media and Communications Associate to join our team. This position will report directly to the Director of Fundraising & Communications at our North East, Maryland retreat property. The position is responsible for leveraging social media to expand our marketing efforts and assist the communications department’s overall goals. The ideal candidate has 5+ years’ relevant experience, excellent communication skills, and can prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Position Summary: Provide focused attention on marketing Sandy Cove through social media while working in conjunction with the Communications team to develop and implement of all marketing projects by performing responsibilities relating to the office, including digital and print marketing efforts.
General Purpose: Support the Communications department at Sandy Cove Ministries by collaborating with the larger Sandy Cove team and strategic partners to design, implement, and manage key elements of our communications plan. This role also involves promoting Sandy Cove to individuals and groups regionally and nationally, with the goal of increasing occupancy for our programs, group ministry events, and personal retreats, all while maintaining consistent branding.
Essential skills & experience
- 3+ years of applicable work experience
- Excellent communication and writing skills – including spelling and proofreading
- Experience with Meta Business Suite
- Willingness to learn about emerging forms of digital and social media, industry trends, and best practices
- Ability to analyze social media data and organize into actionable insights
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Knowledge of SEO/Google Analytics
- Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Ability to plan long term (one month, six months, one year, two years out, etc.)
- Ability to work under pressure and meet desired results with a deadline
- Ability to work as part of a large team, small team and independently
- Ability to work at least 4 program weekends/year to capture marketing material
- Excellent computer skills and experience working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher)

- Basic HTML / CSS (this can be taught)
Essential Job Functions:
Social media
- Create relevant content and publish on Sandy Cove Ministries social media platforms in consistent brand voice.
- In coordination with marketing team and third-party marketing firm, develop high-quality copy for websites and other marketing materials
- Strategically manage all of Sandy Cove’s social media accounts & advertising campaigns
- Ensure that content is relevant and up to date while growing its network and target new followers
- Respond to comments and questions to drive further engagement and reach
- Collaborate with Communications team to identify Sandy Cove target audiences and schedule posts to maximize social media exposure
- Plan and execute paid social media campaigns
- Keep up with and implement the latest social media trends
- Review and analyze social media analytics to evaluate effectiveness of social media campaigns
Communications Support
- Assist with creation, production, copywriting, of digital and print marketing efforts by working with designer, printer and other Sandy Cove employees to ensure cohesive branding that accurately portrays Sandy Cove
- Help manage Sandy Cove’s website by reviewing, working closely with webmaster to communicate changes, proof, maintain event calendar and monitor inappropriate spamming to ensure current accurate information and cohesive branding
- Oversee additional marketing projects (broadcast e-mails, maintain guest e-mail addresses in database, monitoring and responding or redirecting all incoming Sandy Cove inquiries)
- Oversee the production of Sandy Cove gift certificates by evaluating requests, generating certificates, compiling appropriate marketing material to be sent with certificates
- Support & provide other departments at Sandy Cove with information or material as they intersect with Marketing responsibilities
- Update spreadsheets and databases with constituent data
- Perform all other reasonable tasks as assigned
Compensation: Minimum: $20.50/hr. | Maximum $27.74/hr.
