Access Coordinator - Victims of Crime Program
Description

CRIS’s Victims of Crime (VOCA) Program is seeking a dedicated and organized Access Coordinator to provide essential support to CRIS’s VOCA Program, including administering client intake, data collection, program reporting, and compliance with grant and regulatory requirements. This role plays a crucial part in enabling our program to deliver high-quality services to victims of crime within our community.


Full-time 40 hours/week OR Part-time 24 hours/week hybrid work schedule based on candidate interest and/or program needs, competitive hourly wage, medical/dental/vision insurance eligibility (full-time employees), paid time off and paid holidays, flexible spending account (FSA) program, 403b tax-deferred retirement savings option, direct deposit, training opportunities, availability during office hours of Monday-Friday 8:30-4:30 with occasional evening and weekend availability


Please note that this position is scheduled to be funded through 9/30/2027. The continuation of the position will be evaluated on an annual basis and renewed based on program needs and the availability of funding.


Answering calls to VOCA program, including initial safety planning and crisis intervention via phone/text, establishing eligibility, determining urgency level of service initiation, and connecting survivor with the most appropriate and available advocate, or external resources


Work alongside program manager and advocates to evaluate and improve direct services to refugee and immigrant victims of crime and track program outcomes 


Assist in coordinating resources for clients such as transportation, housing, legal aid, and other support services 


Maintain and update program databases and records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality 


Compile case file records and program data to prepare monthly and other reports


Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to ethical standards


Coordinate weekly VOCA team meetings, prepare meeting agendas, take minutes, and distribute accordingly


Engage in ongoing training activities as assigned by supervisor

Support teamwork and collaboration among staff members

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Required
BSSW or related field preferred

Experience in Victim services or related social services field

Experience managing crisis situations with professionalism, empathy and discernment, and maintain a positive, cooperative, and calm professional demeanor during challenging situations
Experience with evaluation and data analysis in a social services setting preferred

Excellent critical thinking skills and works from a needs based, problem-solving approach to address complex situations
Ability to work collaboratively and problem-solve as part of a team 

Knowledge of and a deep demonstrated commitment to working against domestic violence, sexual assault, community and gender-based violence
Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills

Ability to be self-directed with position responsibilities

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

Strong interpersonal and intercultural communication

Experienced working with diverse populations

Possess professional/academic abilities in English across all skill areas including clear pronunciation in speaking and correct grammar and spelling in writing

Fluency in English (Spanish or second language fluency preferred)

Experience working with an interpreter preferred, but not required

Comfortable dealing with technology (software, computer, phone, apps, etc.) and skill with Microsoft Office and Google Apps including Google Drive, e-mail, and internet

Excellent boundary setting skills and ability to prioritize self care, with support from supervisor

Participate in a required background check

Ability to travel (without notice) around Columbus to accompany clients 

Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and current automobile insurance with clean driving record and willingness to drive clients
