NRF has an exciting opportunity for an intern to join our dynamic and collaborative content team. This position supports NRF 2025: Retail’s Big Show Featured Stage production team with pre-show and onsite logistics, planning, and other tasks. In this role, the intern will support speaker processing, speaker communications, production, run of show, and other stage and session needs. The intern will also engage with the NRF Content Team, onsite production crews, onsite convention center staff, and speakers from major retail brands. Additionally, there will be an opportunity to take part in NRF 2025: Retail's Big Show, supporting operations for NRF's three 1,000-person Featured Stages.

 

Schedule

  • 20 hours per week 
  • Starts October 15, 2024, and ends March 31, 2025
  • Flexibility to work in-person or remote


Essential Functions

Pre-Event Tasks include:

  • Creating title slides for featured sessions using Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Creating social graphics for featured sessions using Canva
  • Checking speaker registration lists weekly
  • Monitoring event website for updates to speaker page, session titles and descriptions, and session times
  • Assisting in creation of show flows for featured stages using Google Sheets
  • Sorting speaker and session assets in box.com
  • Printing materials such as reserved signs, show flows, etc. for pre-event tasks
  • Supporting pre-event tasks as needed for NRF Summer Shows – Protect and Nexus
  • Assisting with transferring all past events data to new virtual whiteboard platform (Lucid)

Onsite Event Tasks include:

  • Assisting featured stage managers onsite with tasks as needed, including but not limited to:

                  - Supporting speakers onsite (helping them find their session room, green room, etc.)

                  - Assisting with printed materials and sponsorship materials in green room or session rooms

                  - Assisting with reserved seating

Requirements
  • Must be a sophomore, junior or senior in college or recent college graduate
  • Excellent proofreading skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient in building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including high profile speakers
  • Motivated self-starter with ability to see projects through completion independently
  • Familiarity with the following platforms preferred:

                 - Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)

                 - Google workspace products (Docs, Sheets)

                 - Canva

                 - Box.com

  • Experience supporting events a plus
  • Familiarity with NRF and/or Retail's Big Show a plus
  • Must be able to: Attend NRF 2025 event in person: Retail's Big Show at the Javits Center in New York City, January 11-14, 2025, and work extended work shifts while in New York.
Salary Description
$20/hour
