Position Summary:
The Sales Manager is responsible for managing the sales team, overseeing product sales, and directing marketing efforts, including customer service. This position works in conjunction with administration to ensure invoicing and accounting processes meet company standards. The role is essential to support organizational goals and model best practices, guided by our values of Excellence, Accountability, Transparency and Stewardship (EATS).
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leads the sales team to ensure accurate invoicing, timely order processing, and efficient dispatching.
- Ensures all customer calls are handled effectively, with a focus on first-call resolution.
- Oversees prompt and professional customer interactions, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Analyzes customer buying patterns and prepares sales reports as needed.
- Ensures customer database and website is maintained and updated.
- Oversees website updates and e-commerce using inside and outside personnel as required.
- Plans, organizes, and participates in trade shows to effectively showcase the company’s products and expand market reach.
- Develops and implements marketing strategies to drive sales and grow brand visibility.
- Collaborates with administration on projects, especially during slower periods.
- Collaborates with the production team on inventory management, ensuring the timely availability of products.
- Monitors Inventory management in cooperation with production team.
- Oversees accounts receivable collections, ensuring timely follow-up.
- Ensures customer deposits are collected in a timely manner.
- Ensures effective communication across departments and ensures timely updated communication spreadsheets like Nursery Planning.
- Audits on-time deliveries and implements systems for consistent team performance.
- Ensures office supplies and equipment are maintained and operational.
- Ensures accuracy in contracts and contract lists.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff.
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
- Ensures timecards are reviewed and approved properly.
- Partners with safety to promote a positive safety culture.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, agriculture, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of experience in sales and/or marketing, preferably in the agriculture or horticulture sector.
- Valid driver’s license and driving record acceptable to the Company’s insurance carrier.
- Proficient level computer skills with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Familiar with Famous, KipTraq, and GreenPoint Software, preferred.
