Summary:
The Host is responsible for creating a welcoming and pleasant environment for members and guests as they arrive at the club. The role involves providing excellent customer service, managing guest reservations, and ensuring that all members and guests have a positive experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Warmly greet members and guests as they arrive, providing a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
- Manage reservations and seating arrangements in the dining area, ensuring efficient flow and minimal wait times.
- Escort members and guests to their tables or event areas, providing any necessary information about the club’s services or amenities.
- Answer inquiries about the club’s offerings, such as dining options, events, and facilities, either in person or over the phone.
- Handle guest complaints or concerns with tact and escalate issues to management if necessary.
- Coordinate with dining and event staff to ensure seamless service.
- Maintain a neat and organized reception or entry area.
- Assist with light administrative duties, such as managing reservation logs or updating guest information.
- Promote club events and activities to members, providing information and encouraging participation.
- Ensure adherence to club policies and protocols, always maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in customer service or hospitality is preferred.
- Ability to multitask and manage guest flow effectively.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Knowledge of club services or willingness to learn.
- Basic computer skills for handling reservations or guest information.
Minimum Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Language Skills:
The individual must have strong written communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with employees and clients at all levels of the organization, both verbally and in writing.
Availability:
Varied working hours to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Subject to callback during emergency conditions (severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.)
Work Environment:
The server works in a well-lighted, clean environment. S/he constantly interacts with other people and may have to handle several responsibilities at once. The Association maintains a smoke-free environment in its offices, buildings, and Clubhouse complex.
