Description

As an Associate Vice President of Implementation Services, you will use your expertise of advancement/development operations to provide counsel and support to clients from healthcare systems and academic medical centers, colleges and universities, arts and cultural organizations, and many other nonprofits to advance their missions. This client-facing position will work independently or as a part of team on technology and operations projects.  Projects may include assessments, software implementations, improvements to areas of advancement/development operations.  This role requires a broad knowledge of fundraising and an in depth understanding of operations, including gift processing, data management, prospect development, donor relations, and other areas that support the fundraising process. This position provides direction and management to project resources and must be able to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines and manage time proactively. The ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment, and accountability for various projects is crucial. Excellent writing skills are critical to support projects that require written work product.  Strong communication and presentation skills are necessary to engage with clients. 

This position works collaboratively with clients, consultants, and support staff. This position will frequently partner with and learn from industry-leading consultants as they help clients to discover solutions to their operations challenges. 

Requirements
  • Define engagement scope of work and deliverables and provide excellent delivery of consulting services, in partnership with clients.  
  • Lead select engagements with multiple team members and serve as a team member on other engagements. Must be able to manage project management and consulting team resources assigned to projects appropriately.  
  • As a project lead, guide the successful completion of deliverables to ensure satisfaction of clients. 
  • Collaborate regularly with internal team members and clients to ensure delivery of cohesive and quality work product delivered by deadline. 
  • Meet utilization goals related to billable client work.  
  • Contribute to firm-generated thought leadership by creating or supporting written content and engage in speaking opportunities to promote expertise in philanthropy through firm and industry publications, conferences, or events. 
  • Lead and participate in sales demos, present at user conferences, and in webinars to showcase the department and practice. 
  • Develop and maintain a network of professional contacts that may contain potential clients, initiate conversations with potential clients, maintain existing client engagements, and actively respond to sales opportunities where appropriate. 
  • Contribute to BWF sales and marketing efforts through dedicated opportunity discovery and sales process activities.  
  • Participate in ongoing internal activities as a productive and active member of the firm. These may include orientation and ongoing training, firm-wide client review meetings, and other skill-building activities. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications 

  • 10+ years of relevant work experience related to fundraising operations in higher education, healthcare, and/or other nonprofit settings.  
  • Experience working on large scale technology and operations projects, with exposure to a wide variety of fundraising technology solutions. CRM implementation experience preferred. 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Ability to work in high pressure situations. 
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team. 
  • Analytical skills, both qualitative and quantitative, and a solid strategic thinking ability for developing recommendations and other client deliverables. 
  • Solid time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. 
  • Understanding of project management concepts, such as managing scope, schedule, and budget, and identifying risks, opportunities, and constraints. 
  • Comfort selling services and generating leads and clients.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; professional certification welcome. 

Compensation and Benefits Annual base salary range of $87,000 to $150,000 based on qualifications and experience.  This position is eligible for an annual performance bonus based on transparently defined performance metrics including client satisfaction, work quality, team attainment, and firm contribution metrics.

Work Environment/Conditions 

  • This position can be remote or based in our Minneapolis office (locally based consultants are expected to maintain a hybrid office present) 
  • Position requires ability to work in a stationary position for majority of workday 
  • Continuous use of computer 
  • Frequent communication with team and clients via zoom and in person 
  • This is an exempt position that requires at least 40 hour of work per week during core business hours but due to the nature of this role, additional hours are required when deadlines need to be met 
  • Overnight travel to client sites, conferences or firm meetings is sometimes required (up to 50% of time)

Salary Description
